english-speaking doctor
“As an internist and gastroenterologist, I experience every day that a person is an inseparable unit of body and soul, so many diseases appear as a result of each other. A high degree of precision and patience are essential in diagnosing these, and if necessary, multiple examinations are also essential.” – says Dr. Csaba Mohai.
Dr. Csaba Mohai graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Debrecen Medical and Health Sciences Center in 2012, and then worked for 10 years at the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine of the Uzsoki Street Hospital. He participated in the hospital's broad-profile inpatient care (gastroenterology, endocrinology, diabetology), and from the very beginning he ran a gastroenterology outpatient clinic. "In addition, I have always participated in the on-call system of the department's inpatient care, and for 8 years I have been providing 24-hour on-call care for gastroenterological bleeding patients," says our doctor. “In the hospital outpatient clinic, we treated patients with a wide variety of digestive complaints, so over the years I have been able to become familiar with a very wide spectrum of diseases and their treatment. Due to my high-quality surgical and intensive care background, the routine performance of operative endoscopic interventions was also part of my work.”
“During my work in the hospital ward and during my internships, I was able to learn from very experienced endoscopic specialists and internal medicine specialists, for which I will always be grateful,” says Dr. Csaba Mohai. In addition to his medical activities, he regularly participates in further training courses and conferences, both as a student and as a lecturer, and has also done teaching work (Károli Gáspár Reformed University, participation in the training of SE medical students within the hospital framework and as a mentor to residents).
“As an internist and gastroenterologist, I experience every day that a person is an inseparable unit of body and soul, so many diseases appear as a result of each other. A high degree of precision and patience in their diagnostics, and if necessary, multiple examinations, are essential. Some people can be reassured and their results summarized, while others need to be accompanied and cared for with a serious or chronic illness for life, which brings about the development of a mutual trusting relationship between doctor and patient,” says Dr. Csaba Mohai.
According to our doctor, understanding, open communication, and explaining what to do are important during both examinations and treatments. “I see that the word gastroenterology itself sometimes causes anxiety in patients, and a series of unpleasant interventions automatically appear before their eyes. If they know why what is happening, these anxieties can be resolved,” explains the gastroenterologist.
“The basis of everything is correct and open communication, which, due to the particularly intimate nature of gastroenterology, is essential for establishing an accurate diagnosis and thus the path to recovery,” summarizes Dr. Csaba Mohai.
