Dr. Miklós Czóbel

Surgery

Surgeon Dr. Miklós Czóbel has been strengthening the team of TritonLife Róbert Private Hospital since 2013. His family is a true family of doctors, so his dedication to the profession was formed early. Although internal medicine initially captured his attention at university, surgery became the area where he most flourished. He also gained professional experience in Munich, where he also made use of his high level of German language skills.

Full introduction

– My mother, father and younger brother are also doctors – begins Dr. Miklós Czóbel, who graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Szeged in 1999. During the first three years of his studies, he was attracted to internal medicine, and he mastered the knowledge related to it in outstanding detail among his colleagues. After that, he was more attracted to general surgery, and this interest has not let him down since.

Experiences in Munich

– It was memorable when, as a finalist, I was able to complete my surgical internship at the Technical University of Munich with an Erasmus scholarship. I gained internship there in the field of transplant surgery, but I am also very happy that I was able to get to know the local culture, and I participated in the famous Oktoberfest event, among other things. Since then, many people have asked why I didn’t move to Germany, but my family primarily motivated me to try to succeed at home.

Surgical and clinical years go hand in hand

– After graduating, I worked in Szeged for nearly 12 years. I started my residency training in 2000, then worked at the Department of Surgical Surgery and the Department of Surgery. They were adventurous years, which I look back on with fondness. At the time, the two institutions were in the same building (the surgical office on the left, the surgical department on the right), but overall I was able to make use of it and my creativity was also given space.

– In the mornings, I mostly worked on experiments and taught, and in the afternoons and at night I was in charge of the clinic. Moreover, since I also know how to use IT, I was asked to be a system administrator at both locations. From September 2011 – for two academic years – I worked as a teaching assistant at the Department of Experimental and Surgical Surgery at Semmelweis University. At that time, I also operated at Telki Hospital, and then in the summer of 2013 I joined the TritonLife Róbert Private Hospital team.

Mutual attention for healing

Dr. Miklós Czóbel worked in three locations on a daily basis until the end of May 2023: in addition to TritonLife, he performed surgical specialty appointments at two state institutions, the Dorog location of the Esztergom Vaszary Kolos Hospital (he performed his last appointment at this location in May 2023), and the Margit Hospital in Pásztó.

“I strive to organize my time in such a way that I can take a second specialty exam. I am still deciding in what field, but I am looking forward to new challenges,” explains the surgeon, who says of the doctor-patient relationship that it is a relationship of trust that requires mutual attention.

– One of the most important things is that the desired healing process and result also requires the patient's attention, as he also has a say/responsibility in how he heals. As doctors, our key task is to win the patient over to the success of the therapy that we come up with and accept together. Outside of work, he draws strength mainly from trips with his family, whether it's a beach day at Lake Balaton or a long walk in a beautiful arboretum. In the past, skiing, running, swimming, and martial arts meant relaxation, but nowadays there is less time for these.
