Dr. Ekine Atombosoba Adokiye
Dr. Ekine Atombosoba Adokiye, an obstetrician-gynecologist, welcomes women who come to him with decades of professional experience and immense patience. With the exception of impaired fertility, he deals with the full range of obstetrics and gynecology, and has particular knowledge in the examination and treatment of pelvic pain, for example. At the same time, he also has outstanding experience in the fields of pregnancy care, childbirth management and cesarean section.
– My godmother raised me in a large, loving family. She worked as a midwife, so I grew up around many children and expectant mothers. I learned that a person's life revolves around family. These early experiences certainly contributed to my later career choice, which was basically shaped by chance. I was born in Nigeria and moved to Hungary when I was 24. I worked and studied at the same time, completing my medical studies at the Medical University of Debrecen. Hungary is my second home, it couldn't be otherwise, since I spent my youth here – begins Dr. Ekine Atombosoba Adokiye, who is liked by patients, among other things, for his patience and boundless empathy.
He also happily reveals complicated things
“I was sick a lot as a child, so I know what it's like when someone suffers from something, I can empathize. My professional credo is simple: I want to help, regardless of the problem or situation, because medicine is not just a job, it's a profession. It's in my nature to like to reveal difficult, complicated things, and to be a good listener,” says the doctor, who has spent many years in both the public and private sectors.
Dr. Ekine Atombosoba Adokiye began his career in 1993 at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the Medical and Health Sciences Center of the University of Debrecen, where, among others, Dr. István Batár had a great influence on his work. After that, between 2000 and 2011, he worked as an assistant professor at the Kátai Gábor Hospital in Karcag. During that time, he also gained a lot from the various lectures and conferences, and their attitude-shaping power.
He also gained a few years of experience in his native country
– One of my most defining experiences was the few years I spent temporarily in Nigeria. Between 2012 and 2016, I worked as a clinician and teacher at Niger Delta University. I received a huge, positive boost there. "Fate brought me to Budapest after moving back from Nigeria, and I've been living in the capital ever since," says the obstetrician-gynecologist, whose name can be linked to the birth of many scientific articles that he has published in foreign journals.
Family, sports, writing
When asked about his favorite leisure activities, the doctor replies with a big smile: “I am always recharged.” – Joking aside, the time spent with my family is the most important. I have six children and three grandchildren. I have noticed that the helping profession remains in the family, my first son is an economist and a pastor, my second son works as a paramedic, and my eldest daughter is currently a first-year student at medical school – shares with us Dr. Ekine Atombosoba Adokiye, who enjoys following football matches, and besides sports, writing is what keeps him busy the most. He says he likes to delve into his thoughts and put a few lines on paper.
