Dr. István Tekse's profession is based on a career that combines precision, empathy and continuous innovation.

He passed the board exams in Obstetrics and Gynecology and, years later, Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases with "excellent passing".

He started his career as an ambulance officer, so he learned at a young age what it means to remain calm and decisive in difficult situations. This experience still permeates his daily work - especially when he is leading the birth of lives or precisely performing gynecological surgeries.

As an obstetrician-gynecologist, he pays special attention to ensuring that pregnancy and childbirth are not just medical events, but also safe, supported experiences. Supportive prenatal care, thorough preparation, presence and reassuring expertise – these are the qualities he provides women who come to him from the beginning until the birth of their child. In recent years, he has been present at many births: quietly, attentively, but always prepared to ensure that the greatest moment happens safely.

In addition to obstetrics, another main pillar of his field of expertise is modern, minimally invasive gynecological surgery. Using laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, he performs surgeries that ensure faster healing, less strain and almost traceless aesthetic results. Whether it is endometriosis, fibroids or infertility testing, he strives to find the most gentle solution possible in every case.

As an endocrinologist, he pays special attention to the role of hormonal balance – especially in cases where conception is delayed or menstrual irregularities are caused by more complex reasons. His professional path has been shaped by domestic and international study trips, research and continuous training.

According to his patients, not only his excellent professional knowledge but also his patient-supportive presence make him stand out in the profession. For him, every life situation is unique, every decision is personal, every encounter is a new opportunity to build trust.

Interview with Dr. István Tekse:

He was prepared for all kinds of boyish, adventurous careers in his childhood – he was attracted by the exciting scenes of action movies. Perhaps he identified with tough action heroes who fight for a good cause, react immediately, and cleverly solve complicated cases. When I finally got him to tell me a little about himself, this moment surprised me a lot. Because ever since I have known him, the first term that comes to mind about him is “emotional intelligence”. He is able to turn to the other person with such sincere attention and interest that is rarely found even among doctors. But as I listen to what he does, I realize – he has found the career where these two directions meet with instinctive brilliance.

Adrenaline and empathy

He already worked at university, as a paramedic in the countryside for three years. His eyes sparkle as he talks about the fact that decisions had to be made in a split second, that he had to act quickly, that he often had to manage firefighters and police officers in real action-packed situations and save lives.

I perform best under pressure anyway. For example, I was able to pass exams with good results when the deadline was tight. When I was choosing a profession, I was also oriented towards the most diverse medical field with the fewest routine tasks. After graduating, I was assigned to a busy department in Tatabánya. The head of the department, who was my boss, trusted me like a fatherly friend and I got so much work that the first few years were comparable to university. And it was a serious school for me, not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of its variety. From there, I started visiting private clinics, as my professional goals led me towards endoscopic surgery. I came here 7 years ago and since then, every single day has been a challenge. I work in three main areas – endoscopic surgery, infertility treatment and obstetrics. All three of them are above average challenges and are closely related to each other.

Which one means what to you?

The key to infertility treatment is healing and cooperation. Removing obstacles to pregnancy is only possible through teamwork. We work according to an internationally developed system. There can be hormonal and gynecological obstacles to pregnancy. Removing hormonal obstacles is unthinkable without highly qualified endocrinologist colleagues. But the endoscopic operating room, where I can operate, is also of European standard. And as soon as the patient recovers, the baby immediately gets the green light. But it also requires complete dedication and empathy from the doctor, since infertility cannot be treated merely as a disease, it requires the patient's trust and mental relaxation. Operating with an endoscope is a challenge for me and a professional success. As I said, I started my career in Tatabánya, but I was so interested in endoscopy that I came here in my free time to watch operations at first, and later to assist. I can thank this for working here, because that is why Doctor Fülöp invited me to his department as a colleague.

Obstetrics is an adventure and a source of joy for me. No two births are the same. But there is no joy comparable to seeing a family being born in those few hours. And yes, I trust that nature knows its business. But it is also exciting that you have to be there and that rapid medical intervention may be needed at any time.

Luck and talent

I am satisfied and happy. Being a doctor at a leading private clinic at a relatively young age, living in a happy family – sometimes I think about how lucky I am. Then I remember how many of us at university at that time worked while studying. Or how many young doctors spend years of money, time, and energy to study on their own? And then I realize that it may not be a matter of luck. Why did I also graduate from the University of Economics? I graduated from high school in Szolnok with a degree in mathematics and physics, which is not far from my interests. But I also like to learn. I regularly attend and even give lectures at conferences. Of course, there are some areas where you can only gain new knowledge abroad.

Cello and sailing

Yes, in my free time I also choose activities that are dynamic and adventurous. I ride a motorbike and sail. Although it is true that I can play the cello, and I learned to play the piano with the help of a friend. I also really like to sing…
