Krisztina Balázs was already keenly interested in biology when she was a high school student. She first encountered dietetics, which combines medical and health sciences, nutrition and culinary arts, at a career orientation day. She was immediately captivated by this versatility and felt that she had found a truly special field. That was when she decided that she wanted to become a dietitian.

She completed her studies at Semmelweis University, where she graduated with honors in 2018. She immediately took a position at the Madarász utca department of the Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute, where she worked as a clinical dietitian in both outpatient and inpatient care. In the inpatient department, she mainly worked in internal medicine and the infant department, while in outpatient care she worked in a gastroenterology clinic and dealt with children with eating disorders in early childhood and adolescence and obesity.

Her family's interest in medicine stems from her mother, who, although she became a chemical engineer, trained to be a doctor for a long time, and her love for biology is still strong today.

Her attachment to children was already evident during her studies: her sister's baby boy was born as a third-year dietitian, and it was then that she began to delve deeper into modern child nutrition. This experience set her off in the direction of working with children professionally. She was soon able to transform the theoretical knowledge she had acquired into practical experience during her work at the Madarász utca Children's Hospital.

Over time, she became increasingly aware of the need to gain deeper knowledge of the food industry, with particular attention to food safety, which she considers to be of paramount importance when feeding children, so in 2024 she obtained an MSc degree in food safety and quality engineering.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, and is currently walking the Blue Tour route with her husband. She also enjoys yoga and baking.
