fetal diagnostics

Sonographer Éva Keresztes deals with fetal diagnostic examinations, baby cinema and ultrasound examinations at TritonLife, where she has been strengthening the team since 2015. Building on her more than 10 years of experience as a midwife, she has deepened her knowledge in the field of imaging, but fetal life and development have been close to her heart since the first moment of her professional career. When she is not in the office, she can be found rescuing animals in the field.

– My great passion for biology, botany, zoology and anthropology began in primary school, I could spend hours observing the wonders of nature, such as the journey of bees, the veins of leaves, or the fish in my father’s huge aquarium. My class teacher, who was also our biology teacher, encouraged me a lot to continue in this direction. My family was always open to this, I grew up in a loving environment, they supported me in all my attempts to try my wings and in the maturation of my own individuality. I graduated from the II. Rákóczi Ferenc Gymnasium, took an advanced biology exam, my enthusiasm for the subject was unwavering – recalls Éva Keresztes, who then successfully completed midwifery training and was a full-time colleague at the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Hospital from 1997 to 2015.

As soon as possible, she immediately applied for sonography training

“I had already written my midwifery thesis on genetics and ultrasound, and from the very beginning, fetal life, fetal development and imaging diagnostics were my passion. As soon as the sonography training started, I applied immediately, completed it alongside my work, and from 2009 – after more than 10 years of midwifery – I started working as a sonographer,” says the specialist, who has been strengthening the TritonLife team since 2015, where she gave herself up to deal with the female tract and fetal life because of her experience in the delivery room, and to develop her professional knowledge in this field to an even higher level.

The path she never wants to deviate from

“I no longer undertake births, but have specifically specialized in ultrasound diagnostics. I believe that it is not worth “sitting on five horses”, it is important to specialize in what interests us the most. I never want to deviate from this path, I love my work. It is no exaggeration that my profession is also my hobby – emphasizes Éva Keresztes with a smile, for whom one of the most touching feedback is when a patient asks: “Can we come to Éva next time?”.

High-quality infrastructure and strong team spirit

According to the sonographer, it is also important that they can work very well together with their boss, Dr. Péter Mosonyi, head of the fetal diagnostics department, who supports the team in their further development and participation in further training. – I would also like to highlight that the standard of our clinic is very high, both in terms of premium-class ultrasound devices and the family-like, calm, and friendly atmosphere. I also think it is important that we can devote enough time to the patients, whether it is a baby movie or an ultrasound.

Empathy in every situation

Éva Keresztes experiences that parents have a lot of feelings about the examinations, they have a natural anxiety, and countless other emotions. Her professional credo is to try to resolve concerns and try to make these occasions magical if possible. As she says, everything has the right communication, and she always tries to approach her patients empathetically, clearly, kindly, and by creating mutual trust and respect.

Baby movies are a lasting memory

– Baby movies are becoming increasingly fashionable. Many parents like to seize the opportunity to get a very beautiful, realistic picture of their unborn child, and even take these photos with them to the maternity photo shoot or to the baby's gender reveal party. At the same time, the baby movie images are very touching memories – says the sonographer, who occasionally gives lectures at professional congresses and is happy to get involved in the practical training of students, as she is passionate about passing on knowledge.

Her hobby and passion is animal protection

Last but not least, Éva Keresztes also shared with us what she likes to do outside of the clinic. – Animal protection is extremely close to me, I have two rescued dogs, and I also work as a volunteer animal rescuer. I feel that in the case of every living creature that cannot protect itself, a protective and helping mechanism is triggered in me, and I immediately know that I have to be involved in that.
