Gastroscopy is a quick and effective examination to assess the condition of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.

How does it work?

1. The patient must not eat or drink for 6 hours before the procedure.

2. A local anesthetic is applied to the throat, and sedation is available if needed.

3. A thin, flexible camera (endoscope) is inserted through the mouth into the stomach.

4. The doctor examines the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum in real-time on a monitor.

5. The procedure takes only a few minutes, and tissue samples can be taken if necessary.
