Lyfstone® Calprotectin joint fluid test
The Lyfstone Calprotectin Test is a rapid diagnostic tool that measures calprotectin levels in synovial fluid. It helps differentiate between septic and non-septic joint inflammations. Results are available within 15 minutes and support clinical decision-making, especially in suspected periprosthetic joint infections.
The Lyfstone® Calprotectin Test is a lateral flow rapid test designed for the quantitative measurement of calprotectin in synovial fluid. Calprotectin is an inflammatory biomarker predominantly released by neutrophils, with elevated levels commonly associated with joint infections. This test is particularly useful in the evaluation of suspected periprosthetic joint infections (PJI).
Following aspiration, the synovial fluid sample is diluted in a buffer solution, and a portion of this is applied to the test cassette. The result is read using the Lyfstone Reader, which provides a quantitative value in ng/ml. The test delivers results within 15 minutes, offering a fast, non-invasive, and reliable tool for clinical decision-making.
Indications:
- Suspected periprosthetic joint infection
- Differentiation from non-infectious joint inflammation
- Pre- or post-operative clinical decision support
